The Roads Authority (RA) has announced that the Katima Mulilo weighbridge will be closed for three days to decongest traffic around town during the 34th Independence Day celebration on Thursday.
The RA made this announcement in a media release on Wednesday.
The closure is effective from Wednesday to Friday, with operations resuming on Saturday.
“All operators, drivers and members of the public requiring overload control weighing and related services are advised to make use of alternative weighbridges along their travel routes. Heavy vehicle operators travelling through the Zambezi region are further advised to avoid driving through the central business district (CBD) during this period.
“The RA apologises for any inconvenience caused as a result of this closure,” noted the media release.
