THE Kavango East and West regions will experience a 12-hour planned power outage this coming Sunday.
This was announced by NamPower’s Stakeholder Liaison, Irene !Hoaes, who confirmed that the outage scheduled for Sunday, October 19, will commence at 7:00 in the morning and conclude at 19:00 in the evening.
“The outage is planned to allow NamPower to Tie Inn and energise a new transformer at Rundu Substation, which was installed to cater for the increased demand of electricity at the town. The outage will also allow for maintenance to be carried out,” !Hoaes explained.
She also urged the public to consider all power lines and electrical points as “live” during the power outages since the power supply can be restored without prior notification.
“NamPower apologises to the residents of the two regions for any inconvenience that the outages might cause,” !Hoaes added.
