A FAMILY man had to receive 18 stitches on his head after being attacked by five robbers who broke into his home and terrorized his family on Friday, January 26, 2024, in the early morning hours.

According to the Namibian Police, the incident occurred around 03:30 at a house on Terrace Street, Kleine Kuppe. It is alleged that the suspects used an unknown object to remove the window glass, gained entry, assaulted the complainant, and stole the following properties without consent: one Laptop, a wallet containing cash of N$2 000 and US$400, two cellphones, one TV set, and a Backpack. The total value of the stolen items is estimated at N$60 700. No recovery has been made, and no arrests have been reported. Police investigation continues.

A similar robbery was reported a week ago in Klein Windhoek, following an incident at a flat on Michaelis Street. It is alleged that five masked men also broke into a flat, held the occupants — a couple and their two kids — at gunpoint, and stole a vehicle, four laptops, four cellphones, two television sets, as well as clothes and jewellery with a total value of over N$1 million. Prompt police action has led to the recovery of the vehicle and two cellphones, found in Okuryangava.

However, no arrests have been made in either case.
