WHEREVER the late President Hage Geingob went, his message was always the same: Namibia is a friend to all and an enemy to none, said Ohangwena Regional Governor Sebastian Ndeitunga during the regional memorial service at Eenhana on Wednesday.

Ndeitunga said that the main objective of the regional memorial service was to honour and pay tribute to “our beloved late President Geingob”.

“Late President Geingob had comrades who stood by his side through thick and thin, both during the national struggle for liberation and after the attainment of independence. He also had friends all over the world,” said General Ndeitunga, who was the last notable political appointee of late President Geingob. He emphasized this fact while delivering the region’s message of condolences to the bereaved family, “not forgetting comrades and friends of the late President Hage Geingob both in Namibia and around the globe.”

Ndeitunga was appointed governor in November last year, barely a year after retiring as the Inspector General of the Namibian police.
