NO local authority can be an island on its own or operate in isolation.
This is according to Minister of Urban and Rural Development Erastus Uutoni on Tuesday, during the official opening of the ALAN LED Indaba.
According to Uutoni, collaboration among municipalities, regional councils, and traditional authorities is essential.
“Let us share success stories, learn from each other’s challenges, and pool our resources,” he said.
He added that together, they can address common issues such as accelerated land delivery, housing, sanitation, and environmental sustainability.
Furthermore, he called on local authorities to foster a spirit of solidarity that transcends boundaries and benefits every Namibian.
Moreover, Uutoni indicated that as they deliberate over the next three days, they should commit to a dialogue that is fruitful and action-oriented.
“Let us share best practices, learn from each other’s experiences, and forge partnerships that transcend boundaries,” he added.
He added that together, they can build a future where local economies thrive, and every citizen has the opportunity to contribute to and benefit from the nation’s growth.
