AUGUSTINUS Pule Gauseb, a 53-year-old man, was electrocuted at his home in Karibib, Erongo region.
It is alleged that the deceased was cutting meat for a client with an electric meat cutter when the incident occurred.
According to Inspector Illeni Shapumba of the Erongo region, the death by electric shock happened on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at about 16:00 at house number G-22, Libertine Amadhila Street, Usab location. The incident occurred in the presence of his client.
Inspector Shapumba said that it is alleged that the cutter’s blade disengaged or slipped out of position, prompting the deceased person to switch off the machine and unplug it. Unfortunately, he did so without first switching off the wall’s plug, resulting in his electrocution.
“Although his wife managed to switch the power off after a moment, the deceased allegedly fell down and was taken to Karibib State Clinic, where he was attended to by local nurses as well as Paramedics of Lifelink 999. He was then declared dead,” Inspector Shapumba said.
