THE Namibian Police in the Omusati Region are requesting the public’s help in tracing a woman who allegedly handed her baby girl to a stranger at Outapi on Friday before disappearing.
According to the police, the unidentified woman asked a street vendor to hold her baby while she returned to a local Pep store to collect a bag she had forgotten at the customer parcel unit. However, she never came back.
The street vendor waited for nearly an hour, and when the baby began crying, she decided to report the matter to the police.
The police are now appealing to members of the public who know someone who had a baby, estimated to be 3 months old, but no longer has the child, to come forward. They are urged to contact social worker Megameno Aiyambo at 081 328 9045 or report to the nearest police station.
