The seventh leg of the National Motocross (MX) event this past weekend at Omaruru in the Erongo region was one for the books, avid motocrosser Ingo Waldschmidt says.
It was well organised, and the community of Omaruru pulled out all the stops to ensure a smooth-running event with well-prepared tracks, he says.
With the Motocross of Africa Nations (MXoAN) still fresh in their minds, South African rider Jean Visser joined the event.
“Visser won the 125cc class. He was fast on the tracks and also took part in the open class,” Waldschmidt says.
Unfortunately, his bike had a breakdown in the first heat, and he could not finish the whole race.
Waldschmidt says no injuries were reported.
The next event is slated for the weekend of 23 September at Swakopmund.
This was decided on after some minor issues were solved regarding the venue.
