THE Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) Fund has taken a decision this year to invest in the government’s efforts to ensure that every child has an opportunity to be educated.
This was said by Ruben Uupindi, MVA Senior Manager for Accident and Injury Prevention, on Monday during the inauguration of a block of five classrooms and a storeroom, courtesy of the MTC Namibia Rural Schools Project, at Onduludiya Combined School in the Ohangwena Region.
Uupindi indicated that they have allocated N$2 million for other schools in various regions within the country.
He said that they believe this will significantly contribute to the national socio-economic development agenda of the country, as enshrined in national policy documents such as Vision 2030 and the National Development Plans.
The Fund, he noted, has initiated several school development projects, including a partnership with MTC for the construction of classrooms at both Onduludiya Combined School and Kahunikwa Primary School in the Zambezi region, where they handed over another four newly constructed classrooms and a storeroom about two weeks ago.
“We saw it fit to collaborate with MTC based on our long-standing partnership, where MTC has played a significant role in the Fund’s efforts of accident and injury prevention,” he said.
He added that through the Fund’s corporate social responsibility, supporting initiatives like this enables them to foster strategic partnerships with key stakeholders and partners, allowing the Fund to engage in projects that have a lasting and sustainable impact on the lives of Namibians.
He explained that the MVA Fund is an institution deeply committed to making a meaningful impact on their communities.
“This commitment is not only observed in the project we are witnessing today but also in several similar projects we have undertaken in the past,” he said.
Uupindi indicated that they will continue to contribute more to meeting the government halfway and investing in the education of Namibian children.
