The Namibia Annual Sport Awards occurred on Saturday night, with Veja Hinda, Vera Loser, and Ananias Shikongo emerging as some of the prominent winners.
This event, hosted at the MTC Dome in the Erongo region, recognized athletes, sports experts, and coaches for their dedication and hard work.
The prestigious annual ceremony’s primary objective is to honor and celebrate various accomplishments in the realm of sports. It encompasses a total of twenty award categories.
Veja Hinda was honored with the NASA MTC Sportsman of the Year for his exceptional achievements in mixed martial arts.
Vera Looser secured victory in the MTC NASA Sportswoman of the Year category, also earning the title of Sports Star of the Year.
Lahja Ishitile received the Nampower NASA Sportswoman of the Year with a Disability award.
Ananias Shikongo clinched the Nampower NASA Sportsman of the Year with a Disability award, prevailing over competitors Rodney Snewe and Johannes Nambala.
Fillemon Ngutenanye was the recipient of the NWR NASA People’s Choice Award, chosen by the community.
In the Team of the Year category, the Junior Ladies National Inline Hockey team emerged victorious.
The NASA Sports Journalist of the Year award in the radio and television category was claimed by NBC Sport Producer Michael Ditu.
