Namibian Police issues apology after issuing false report of woman’s death shot by boyfriend

THE Namibian Police Force has extended a sincere apology to the families and the public at large for the information shared earlier that the victim, Sonia Ndimulunde (33), who was shot and injured yesterday by her boyfriend in a GBV incident in Katutura, had succumbed to injuries in the hospital.

Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi, spokesperson of the Namibian Police said that this information is retracted because the information is incorrect and was not verified.

“The victim was visited at Katutura State Hospital however according to the medical report, she is in a critical condition. We wish her a speedy recovery. The Namibian Police Force would once again like to apologize to the victim and her family for the incorrect information shared and for the inconveniences this may have caused. Thank you for the understanding, in this regard,” Shikwambi concluded.
