Namibia’s cricketing veterans are primed and prepared to make their mark in the inaugural International Masters Cricket Over-40s World Cup.

Bringing together the crème de la crème of Over-40s cricketers from 12 nations, this tournament is set to dazzle fans with 42 exhilarating matches spanning two action-packed weeks.

Under the leadership of captain Nicolaas Buys, the Namibian squad presents a formidable lineup of seasoned players poised to showcase their skills on the global stage. Spearheading the team’s charge is the illustrious Gerrie Snyman, whose explosive batting and all-round abilities have earned him a revered status in the cricketing world. Snyman’s extraordinary feats, such as his record-breaking 17 sixes in a List-A innings against UAE in 2007, underscore his exceptional talent with the bat. Moreover, his ability to perform under pressure, combined with his adept medium pace and off-spin bowling, make him an indispensable asset to Namibia’s campaign for glory.

The tournament will unfold on the prestigious cricketing grounds of the Western Cape region, with the Grand Final slated to take place at the esteemed Wally Wilson Oval at Western Province Cricket Club on March 1, 2024.
