LOCAL and business communities in the Oshana Region have pledged to donate over 100 copies of Footprints of Hifikepunye Pohamba – Ondjila Ei Enda, an autobiography of former President Hifikepunye Pohamba, to schools across the nation.
This initiative, aimed at promoting literacy and education, comes as the former leader continues to shape the country’s future even after leaving office.
The Rani Group of Companies has pledged the largest donation, with 20 books expected to be handed over to schools in the north once identified.
Oshana Governor Elia Irimari made the second-largest pledge of nine books. Irimari indicated that five of the books will be donated to the Office of the Governor, while the remaining four will be distributed to various schools, including his primary school.
