Nandi-Ndaitwah salutes President Geingob’s exemplary leadership

THE Swapo Party and indeed the people of Namibia are honoured by the trust and transparency with which President Hage Geingob is leading the party and the country, said Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, the ruling party’s Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister. In a statement issued in her capacity as the second-highest in the party’s hierarchy, Netumbo saluted President Geingob’s exemplary leadership in taking the nation into confidence, even in matters of a personal nature. The full text follows:

Dear Comrades, friends, supporters, and sympathizers of the SWAPO Party,

As the Vice President of the SWAPO Party and subsequent to the unfortunate news concerning the health of the President of our SWAPO Party, I take this opportunity to acknowledge with deep appreciation the outpouring of well wishes for the speedy and full recovery of our Party President and that of the Republic of Namibia, Comrade Dr. Hage Gottfried Geingob.

We as a Party and indeed the people of Namibia are honoured by the trust and transparency with which Comrade Dr. Hage Geingob has continued to lead our Party. We salute him for his exemplary leadership in taking the nation into confidence, even in matters of a personal nature.

We are all human and thus prone to sickness. It is, therefore, natural that we should be concerned about the health of our leader. However, be assured that Cde President is in good spirit and receiving medical attention and will continue to conduct the business of the Party and Government while giving necessary priority to his treatment.

I, therefore, call on the entire leadership, rank and file of the SWAPO Party, friends, supporters, and sympathizers to continue to stand in solidarity and unity as we extend our best wishes to comrade President Geingob for a speedy and full recovery.

Let us remain true to our values and traditions of solidarity, respect, and dignity. Let us allow Comrade President and his family space to focus on his recovery and healing process, without speculation.

Let us unite in prayer and transmission of goodwill to Comrade President, for a speedy and full recovery.
