WINDHOEK, July 21 – In a distressing incident on Thursday morning around 10h50, a newborn baby boy was discovered alive in a riverbed between Windhoek’s Ombili and Hakahana informal settlements. The Khomas region police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Silas Shipandeni, revealed that the unknown suspect is alleged to have unlawfully and intentionally dumped the helpless infant in the riverbed.
Fortunately, the baby was found alive by a passerby in the early morning hours and was rushed to the hospital for immediate medical attention. Thanks to prompt action, the baby is reported to be in good health.
As the investigation into this heart-wrenching case continues, the police are seeking the cooperation of the public, especially those residing in the vicinity where the victim was found and across the country. Authorities urge anyone with relevant information that may aid in the identification and arrest of the suspect to come forward and assist in bringing the perpetrator to justice.
