Windhoek, July 12. – Monica Geingos, First Lady of Namibia and President of the Organization of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD), assumed the role of moderator during a compelling discussion among seven other African First Ladies at the groundbreaking Global First Ladies Alliance program. The discussion focused on OAFLAD’s Unifying Campaign, which aims to foster gender parity and close the gender gap across the continent.
During the event, the attending First Ladies engaged in comprehensive deliberations surrounding the year-long initiative titled WeAreEqual. This ambitious campaign targets the enhancement of gender equality through a multifaceted approach encompassing crucial areas such as health, education, domestic violence, and economic empowerment.
The program’s implementation will be tailored to suit the specific needs of African countries and is underpinned by four fundamental components. The participating First Ladies, representing various nations, seized the opportunity to exchange insights, share best practices, and build enduring relationships aimed at collectively promoting the cause of gender equality.
