THE Rössing Foundation continues to transform lives through community empowerment and innovation by once again extending its reading culture to Ompandakani Combined School.
The foundation handed over 175 library books and reading materials to the school.
Officially handing over the donation, Rössing’s manager for academia in Ondangwa, Lysias Uusiku, said they resolved to add value to the school library by contributing 175 library books and reading materials.
Uusiku said this is because the library plays a crucial role in fostering lifelong learning among all members of the school community, including learners, staff, families, and the general public. It enables them to gain new knowledge, skills, and character that they will use throughout their lives.
“We are currently operating three education centres in the country, which are Tamariskia, Arandis, and Ondangwa,” he said.
He added that each centre has two libraries, one for junior learners and one for senior learners.
According to Uusiku, these centres and libraries were built to boost educational development in the communities.
He then appealed to learners at Ompandakani CS to visit the library and read these resources to broaden their general knowledge and uncover new things that would add value to their learning.
