THE rainy season has commenced in the north, and Omuthiya town in the Oshikoto Region was among the first places to experience inundation after a Tuesday afternoon downpour. The main street area was momentarily transformed into a “lake,” prompting business owners to quickly construct “makeshift bridges” to facilitate customer access to their establishments.
Residents interviewed by Informanté mentioned that while the downpour was fairly heavy, the primary cause of the flooding was attributed to poor town planning. They expressed concerns about the messy layout of the town.
