WILHELM Modestus, also known as Lavas, one of the six suspects in the murder of Patrick Hawala Hamupanda (Waka), remains on the run.

According to Nampol, the other five suspects were apprehended on Tuesday evening in Windhoek after an extensive search that spanned the previous two days. One of the suspects, Modestus, also referred to as Lavas, remains at large, and the public is urged to provide any information regarding his whereabouts.

Additionally, law enforcement has emphasized that this individual is considered both armed and dangerous. The public is once again cautioned against attempting to detain him and is instead advised to get in touch with Deputy Commissioner Chrispin Mubebo at 081 268 8888, Detective Chief Inspector Simeon Nghilalulwa at 081 256 0988, or the nearest police station.

Five of the men apprehended last night in Windhoek are Lukas ‘Big Show’ Nghishekwa, Festus ‘Vuxxa’ Nehemia, and Kleofas Amutenya, Lukas Andreas, also known as Aqua, and Armani Emvusi, also known as Stone. The 6th suspect, Modestus, is still on the run.

On Tuesday afternoon, the authorities asked both the media and the general public to help locate the individuals who were being sought, and they were arrested a few hours later.

“I’m sharing this Police Success with you, our esteemed stakeholders, by saying that the Namibian Police Force would like to extend its appreciation to the public and media for the unwavering support and assistance which led to the successful apprehension of five of the wanted suspects in the Murder of Patrick Hawala aka Waka on Sunday,” Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi remarked.

Hamupanda was killed on Sunday night on Mungunda Street, Katutura, by an alleged group of about five men who purportedly stormed into the room where he was sleeping, stabbing and shooting him.
