THE second edition of the Oshikuku Agriculture and Training Expo (OATE) is set for this month.
The expo will officially kick off from October 25 to 28, 2023, and is being held under the theme: “Promoting modern agriculture in Africa and beyond.”
The Chairperson of OATE, Paratus Nepolo, said they expect to have over 100 exhibitors for this year’s expo.
According to Nepolo, the 70 youths that were trained last year will also be given the platform to showcase their products and services.
“We want Namibians to appreciate agriculture and invest to address the issue of food insecurity,” he said.
He added that agriculture is vital as 70% of the Namibian population heavily relies on agriculture for their livelihood.
Last year, the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Land Reform pledged its support towards hosting the Oshikuku Agriculture Expo with the hope of reaching a large audience.
Thus, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Anna Shiweda will officially grace the event and deliver her keynote address.
Nepolo then urged Namibians across the country to come in large numbers and make this event a success.
