The leaders and residents of the Otjinene constituency joined the rest of the country in remembrance of the late President Hage Geingob, whom they describe as a leader of note, a people’s president, and someone who always stood by his word.
The Chairperson of the Otjinene Village Council, Lesley Kauandara, emphasised that the late President Hage Geingob served his country with dedication and had shown political maturity by singling out the appointment of opposition figures into the country’s administration.
“One lesson I learned from the late president was to maintain a political maturity relationship with opposition political parties. Dr. Hage promoted our Nudo Party president into deputy minister of health services based on merit; who else will do that? That represents the level of political maturity with which he was passionate about establishing a Namibian house and an inclusive Namibian house, and no one should be left.”
Some political party representatives also attended the memorial service in honour of the late President.
The Otjinene Constituency Councillor, Erwin Katjizeu, says that the late President Hage Geingob was someone who represented Namibia on all fronts.
“Far well, your excellency; you will be deeply missed, but your legacy will endure. As we reflect on his legacy, we remember the man who worked for our beloved country, Namibia. President Hage Geingob’s leadership was characterised by profound inclusivity, seeking unity among diverse communities.”
