THE Namibian police at Okondjatu have arrested a man suspected of stealing four head of cattle and a horse.

The suspect was apprehended in the Okanungu village on Saturday morning.

It is alleged that the suspect stole the four cattle valued at N$35,000. According to the police, the suspect slaughtered one of the cattle, burned the skin and head, and buried the intestines in a clear attempt to hide the crime.

The other three cattle were recovered and handed over to the rightful owners, said the police.

The police investigation found that the horse, which was used to drive the cattle, was also stolen. It was further established that the suspect did not act alone. There is a second suspect who is known to the police and can be arrested at any time.
