A case of hunting of specially protected game without a permit is being investigated by the police in Otjozondjupa after a carcass of a female black Rhinoceros was found at a water hole.
Otjozondjupa police spokesperson Inspector Maureen Mbeha said the discovery was made recently at Eden Farm.
Mbeha indicated that both horns were found intact on the skull.
“Preliminary investigations on the carcass revealed that the animal was shot in the stomach sometime back,” she said.
She added that the bullet piece was retrieved from the stomach content.
Mbeha said no suspects were arrested at this stage.
Police investigations into the matter continue.
