Botswana’s President Duma Boko has urged the nation to embrace peace and unity going forward and to work with utmost dedication towards moving the country to greater heights.
The President echoed the sentiments during his inauguration address in Gaborone this morning.
President Boko, who prefers to be addressed in a more relatable and appealing way by ordinary citizens, as ”That’s my boy” marked the history of Botswana, leading a coalition of opposition parties to victory to unseat the Botswana Democratic Party, which ruled for 58 years.
The President took an oath of office on the 2nd of November, leading to this momentous occasion that was witnessed not just by Botswana but by the whole world.
Peace, Love and Unity of the nation became the highlight of the President ‘s inaugural speech.
He emphasised the need for the nation to work together with determination to see a more prosperous Botswana.
The President offered a heartwarming acknowledgement of former President Mokgweetsi Masisi and applauded his commitment to democracy and continued legacy of peaceful transition of power.
The Mahalapye-born leader also acknowledged his upbringing on the streets of the village that has shaped him to be what he is today.
