President Hage Geingob has announced a period of national mourning for national anthem composer Axali Doëseb.
In a statement released on Thursday, the president said the mourning period would be observed on Friday and Saturday.
Doëseb, who died on 27 October at the age of 68, was granted a state funeral.
He will be buried in Windhoek on Saturday.
“The president orders all flags in the Republic of Namibia, including diplomatic missions abroad, to be flown at half-mast for the duration of the period of mourning,” the statement said.
