In the bustling city of Montreal, a rising star is making his mark on the music scene.

Princelou Faragama, a rapper hailing from Namibia, has been on an extraordinary journey since relocating to Canada with his family in 2020. With a relentless passion for music and an unyielding drive to succeed, Faragama has been steadily building his career, collaborating with Canadian artists, and carving a name for himself in the industry.
Life across the pond has been a transformative experience for Faragama. He tells us that since his arrival, he has immersed himself in the music scene, honing his craft and fully embracing the vibrant cultural atmosphere of the city.

“I’ve just been focusing on the music, trying to get a hold of it fully,” he shares.

But his journey extends beyond his rapping. Faragama has embraced the local culture, had the chance to explore new cuisines, and has connected with a diverse range of people, including fellow artists.
In his pursuit of growth, he even learned French, the primary language in Quebec.

This linguistic accomplishment has undoubtedly enhanced his ability to be in tune with the community and expand his reach as an artist.
Reflecting on his personal growth, which includes hosting his own events and being interviewed by local media, Faragama acknowledges the significant changes he has undergone since emigrating.

“Moving here was a major shift for me, and I had to get used to a lot of things,” he says. Being away from familiar faces and finding himself alone a lot of the time in a new environment allowed him to embark on a journey of self-discovery.

It was then that he delved deep within himself, reflecting on his aspirations and formulating a clear vision for his music career.
His most recent EP, simply titled ‘Princelou Faragama’ and dropped in April, served as an introduction to this stage of his artistry and a statement of self-empowerment.

By naming the project after himself, he aimed to familiarise the audience with his name and leave a lasting legacy.

“I’m more open on this music. I just wanted to give the people a little piece of me and just really be open about everything,” he says.
“It’s not an easy thing, but I believe that everybody who listens to my music can relate in some way.”

Looking ahead, Faragama is enthusiastic about proving himself as an individual artist with a unique story to tell. He is also working on his next project, an Afro-pop EP with Canada-based songstress MCK.

The project is still in progress, but he is already excited about the direction they are taking, as for him it represents a significant step forward in his artistic journey, allowing him to explore new creative territories and reach an audience beyond hip-hop.

Other than his own career aspirations, Faragama says he is deeply committed to uplifting the Namibian music industry as a whole.

“It’s really all about that. I’m just trying to open the gates for all the kids, all the OGs who were not able to tap into this market,” he says.
By representing his homeland, he hopes to shed light on the immense talent that resides here.

Faragama firmly believes Namibia deserves global recognition, and he is determined to play a pivotal role in elevating its artists onto the world stage.

The more Faragama talks about his craft, the more his gratitude and dedication to his fans shine through. He remains unwavering in his pursuit of success and is thankful for every supporter that has been by his side throughout his journey.

With a resolute determination to inspire and make his nation proud, he is undoubtedly a force to be reckoned with in the music industry.

For the rest of the year, the young artist has an exciting line-up of shows, new music releases and collaborations on the horizon. It’s clear that he is not just one to watch, but a talent that is forging a path for himself, and going after what he wants.
