“KEEP on playing, we will keep on paying,” as said by PstBet Marketing Abner Neputa.
Neputa made these remarks during the official launch of the first edition of the PstBet Oshana Region Governor’s Cup on Tuesday.
Neputa emphasized that they are committed to supporting their local communities.
“We do this in any way we can with the resources available. Therefore, we are eager to get involved in the Governor’s Cup of the Oshana Region,” he said.
He said that as sponsors, they are providing N$210 000 over the next three years, equating to N$70 000 annually.
Neputa highlighted that through the sponsorship, they believe they are bringing communities together through sports and assisting athletes in reaching their full potential, thereby improving the livelihood of the youth in Namibia.
During the official tournament launch, Oshana Governor Elia Irimari said that the tournament will feature 7 sports codes: Soccer, Netball, Volleyball, Boxing, Village Marathon, Owela, and Tug of War (which is only for organizing officials and Honourable Councillors).
“We are incredibly grateful to PST BET for their unwavering support and commitment to promoting sports and youth development,” he said.
He added that the tournament will not only showcase the remarkable sporting talent that Oshana has to offer, but it will also serve as a catalyst for development, growth, and empowerment within their region.
Irimari also indicated that the event will provide opportunities for young athletes to showcase their skills, catch the attention of scouts, and potentially pave the way for future careers in various professional sport codes.
