Reeziana releases ‘Monalisa’ – The Namibian

AWARD-WINNING hip-hop artist Reeziana Naris, known by her stage name Reeziana, has new music, a fusion of Afro and rap.

‘Monalisa’ was produced by upcoming producer Paris and it was mixed and mastered by Elvo.

“‘Monalisa’ is a Afro track produced by a very talented upcoming producer. I recorded it myself at my home studio. I worked with Paris, because if there is new talent, then I would love to explore it. I have respect for Elvo’s mastering and his work ethics, that’s why I send my songs to him,” Reeziana says.

Reeziana says ‘Monalisa’ is about a not that good looking lady who is professing her love for a man. She has no money and she does not have the body men see on Instagram these days. However, she has a heart of gold and that is what she is trying to tell him in her own way.

She says she wanted to do something different.

“Currently, Afro music is making waves. Being a versatile artist, I work on whatever beat works for my vibe,” she says.

She has not released any new music for some time now, because she needed time to perfect her work, she says, adding that she also wanted time to spend on her professional career.

“I took some time off to avoid making music that sounded mediocre and to learn more about what sounds I’m comfortable with. I wanted to find out which route I would like to take with my music and also financial growth. Hence, I’m now employed full time as a head chef. I was also able to build a home recording studio, where I can now explore my creativity freely,” she says.

Reeziana says working on ‘Monalisa’ has taught her that music can be diverse and that she can branch out, without the limitations she has previously set for herself. She says working on her new project, she is able to explore new sounds and keep up with new trends.

Speaking about more new music, Reeziana says she is working on an album with a lot of features.

“I haven’t really worked on a lot of features in my past albums. So, this time around I’m looking forward to putting on anyone with talent that can vibe with me,” she said.
