Reflecting on late President Hage Geingob’s life

When a public figure, let alone a president, dies, documentaries that narrate their life story come in abundance.

The late Head of State, Dr. Hage Geingob, lived a humble life, yet this global figure had unpublished stories of humility, some of which were hidden from the public eye.

On Saturday, the nation went to sleep, oblivious to what they would awaken to, as the cock would crow at dawn.

That was the heart-shattering news, delivered by then-Vice President Nangolo Mbumba.

Dr. Geingob was given the grace of up to 82 years, and for most of his life, he lived for the betterment of his country and people.

He served his country for many years with distinction, in various capacities.

His first public service was in 1961 as a teacher, 63 years before his death.

For his party, Swapo, he served as an assistant representative from 1963 in the US and the Americas, marking 61 years before his death.
