RUGBY WORLD CUP COETZEE SPEAKS

Welwitschias head coach Allister Coetzee has spoken about his team’s chances ahead of their clash against New Zealand in their second World Cup game this Friday in France.

The Namibian team played with passion and determination, but competed out of steam as they went down 52-8 to Italy in their opening match at the Rugby World Cup in France on Saturday.

Head coach Allister Coetzee says he is pleased with the effort the team has put in so far, even though the results did not reflect this just yet.

”So we are focusing on the next match, so for us is to be at our best as we can and represent against the top size of rugby. The New Zealand are obviously hurting as well and they will come up. The big thing for me is to make sure that the believe stays in the team, believe in our system and what we have planned and execute it better. When we throw the punches and they put pressure on us we will make sure we have something to counter punch”

The former champions lost against France in their intense opening match by 27-13 ending the All Blacks’ run of 31 straight wins in the pool stage.

He says that the All Blacks are very challenging and that they should be smart about their guerrilla tactics.

” We going to earn the respect, when we positioning to play and the players know when they play against All Blacks, they really give time and respect once you do not give up and I suppose that is our aim for this weekend. We going to make sure we are very competitive and if we have chances we going to convert what we are thinking of and our process and result is the consequences of how prepare and can apply”

New Zealand and Namibia will be tackling it out on Friday evening. Catch this match LIVE on NBC 1 at 21:00.
