SADC to discuss issues of peace and security



SADC will hold the 25th Ordinary Meeting of the Ministerial Committee of the Organ on Politics, Defence, and Security Cooperation tomorrow in Windhoek.

The work of the Organ is premised on the understanding that peace, security, and political relations are critical factors in creating a conducive environment for SADC regional cooperation and integration.
 
In line with Article 5 of the SADC Protocol of the Organ on Politics, Defence, and Security Cooperation, the MCO is composed of Ministers responsible for Foreign Affairs, Defence, and Public Security from all SADC member states and is mandated to coordinate the work of the SADC Organ in promoting peace and security in the Region.

The 25th Ordinary MOC meeting will be chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of International Relations and Cooperation in her capacity as the Chairperson of the Ministerial Committee of the Organ, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah.
