THE owner of ALJO Investment CC and Chief Executive Officer, Joel Paulus, has vowed to always assist the Dr. Frans Aupa Indongo Centre with basic necessities every year to keep the little ones fed.

He made the vow on Wednesday while donating five bags of 20kg maize meal to the centre.

The centre, which is established by Ali Shilongo, 66, is home to 25 children with special needs, and some of them require constant care, such as feeding and bathing, as well as daylong supervision because they are unable to walk or communicate.

Paulus, who came across the centre whilst listening to a local radio program, indicated that he was moved and decided to give a helping hand while he was in Oshakati visiting family members.

Paulus runs a business situated in Otjiwarongo. However, every time he finds himself in the north, he makes it a norm to always select a charity of his choice and give back the little he has to share.

What is more fascinating is that he describes giving back as a moment of joy for himself and those that he assists.

“I know how it feels not having anything to feast on, and the responsibility taken by Kuku Shilongo is one that requires Namibians to unite in assisting the vulnerable members of society,” he said.

He added that kindness goes a long way, and he always feels like giving back is way more rewarding than turning a blind eye.

When Informanté caught up with Paulus, he was coming from the office of the governor in Oshana where he handed over 5 bags of 20kg of maize meal, school books, and boxes of 80 grams of paper sheet at the time.

The items are to be equally distributed to the needy community identified by the governor, while the school materials will be handed over to selected schools in the region.
