VULNERABLE children in Helao Nafidi Town can now enjoy Christmas, thanks to Town Mayor Darius Shaalukeni, who made it his effort to treat 50 girls and boys from the surrounding area.
Shaalukeni indicated that Christmas is a time of giving, and the best gift one could share with people is sharing the little one has to brighten the day for another person.
Thus, he said he gave Christmas gift packs to 50 vulnerable young boys and girls from surrounding schools and houses in Helao Nafidi, those who are living with elderly people.
The pack contains Aquafresh, toothbrush, facecloth roll, deodorant body lotion, 5kg washing powder, body soap, and sanitary pads for girls.
“The pack was made possible courtesy of the First Lady through the One Economy Foundation. We really appreciate the First Lady for always being ready to play the mother figure’s role when requested to and always understanding the young people’s needs while encouraging the vulnerable children to work harder to sharpen their future,” he said.
He added that the goal is to give a little bit of Christmas magic to as many children and young people as possible, and with the current cost-of-living crisis, they are doing everything possible to help those in need in their town.
