The Swapo Party has reaffirmed its commitment to addressing the social challenges facing the country, particularly in rural communities.
During the rally at the Eenhana Swapo Party headquarters, Vice President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah reminded attendees that the government, under Swapo’s leadership, will continue to advocate for socio-economic development.
The Swapo Party Star Rally attracted supporters from across the region and the country, including members of South Africa’s sister party, the African National Congress (ANC).
Former President Hifikepunye Pohamba, as well as former and current Cabinet Ministers and Deputy Ministers, were also present.
Speaking to the packed stadium, the Vice President of the Swapo Party and Presidential Candidate assured attendees of the party’s unwavering commitment to social welfare and development.
“Regarding water shortages, the government will continue to ensure that everyone has access to potable water by developing an underground aquifer discovered in the region a few years ago.”
During the event, approximately 80 new members were welcomed into the party, contributing to a total of about 6,000 new members in the Ohangwena Region alone.
