Taiwan: Paraguay will keep relations with the democratic island

Paraguay’s new government says it will maintain diplomatic ties with Taiwan, even if that upsets Beijing. The South American state is one of just thirteen countries, including the Vatican, that recognise Taiwan as a sovereign state in preference to the communist People’s Republic of China.  Here’s Andrew Wood in Hong Kong
