LINEKELA Festus Mwahangavaya, a 57-year-old male taxi driver, was discovered dead in his taxi in the garage at his residence on Samuel Hoebeb Street, DRC Location, Swakopmund.
According to Chief Inspector Elifas Kuwinga of the Namibian police, the deceased was discovered on Thursday, October 26, 2023. Kuwinga said that the deceased was found in the driver’s seat by the police.
He added that this unfolded after some of his customers wondered why he did not pick them up or answer his cellphone since yesterday. They immediately notified a friend who knows his residence to report and direct the police.
“Paramedics from Swakopmund State Hospital were in attendance and declared him dead at the scene. The house key was found in the pocket of his blazer along with an amount of N$630.00 in the pocket of his trousers. According to the family, he did not have any known health issues. However, his health passport could not be traced. The deceased lived alone. His remains were conveyed to Swakopmund State Hospital by the police. No injuries were observed on the body. The postmortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death. Police investigation continues,” Kuwinga said.
