Telecom Namibia has resolved disruptions to internet and voice services that occurred nationwide on Monday and early Tuesday morning.
In a Tuesday statement, the company attributed the outages to technical difficulties stemming from cable theft in multiple areas, including Windhoek, Okahandja and Katima Mulilo.
“We again urge all to please report any suspicious behaviour regarding copper cable theft and the sabotage of our network, particularly around Telecom Namibia’s manholes,” Telecom said.
Additionally, Telecom revealed its intentions to enhance its network by entering into a N$167 million fixed mobile convergence core network contract with Huawei, a deal that was finalised last week.
