Three drown over weekend

THREE deaths as a result of drowning were recorded at Walvis Bay, Outapi and Eenhana this past weekend.

This was announced by national police spokesperson deputy commissioner Kauna Shikwambi in the police’s weekend crime report.

Sem Wratten (53) drowned in the sea around Sandwich Harbour at Walvis Bay on Friday morning.

“It is alleged that the deceased driver lost control over the vehicle [he was driving], rolled down the dunes and fell into the seawater,” Shikwambi said.

Wratten’s next of kin have been informed of the incident and police investigations continue.

On the same day Akushanga Tangomwene (13) drowned in a dam while swimming at Oshkulufita village at Outapi.

The incident took place at around 18h00 and Tangomwene’s next of kin have been informed.

Kristian Kwedhi (39) was found floating in an earth dam at Eenhana on Saturday morning.

His next of kin have been informed of the incident and police investigations continue
