THREE male youngsters were arrested by the Namibian police in the Kavango East Region on a charge of attempted murder. It is alleged that the three were part of a gang of five that attacked and seriously injured an unidentified victim in Rundu’s Sikanduko location shortly before midnight on Friday.
According to the police, the victim had just left a shebeen and was walking to the road to catch a taxi back home when he was suddenly attacked by gang members who emerged from the darkness. The police said that the attackers used their bare hands and a panga. Two of the arrested suspects are aged 17, while the third is aged 22. Two others are still at large.
The three youngsters were arrested over the same weekend that saw three other under-20 suspects arrested in separate drugs-related incidents.
