THE Tsumeb Municipality raised a total of N$620 000 during the first-ever Breakfast Meeting and Official Launch of the Tsumeb Copper Festival.

Dundee Precious Metals, the main sponsor, pledged N$205 000, followed by Standard Bank with N$110 000 and First National Bank (FNB) with N$105 000.

The Tsumeb Copper Festival is scheduled for next month and is being held under the theme: “Empowering entrepreneurship for a sustainable Namibia.”

Julius Gaeseb, Chairperson of the Tsumeb Copper Festival, said that this innovative change aims to unite the business community, fostering networking and collaboration.

According to Gaeseb, this year’s festival will feature local and international exhibitors showcasing their products and services.

“The festival offers a diverse array of activities, including SME training, a Youth summit, Farmers day, a Business Conference, and a sporting bonanza set to kick off the festivities a weekend prior,” he said.

He added that these initiatives underscore the festival’s commitment to community engagement, economic empowerment, and sustainability in Namibia.

Jerome Mutumba, the Head of Department of Marketing & Corporate Communications at the Development Bank of Namibia, said gatherings like this breakfast meeting are vital because they not only mark the beginning of this grand event but also symbolize the commitment of their strategic partners.

He indicated that it is a moment when they come together to pledge their support and resources to ensure the success of the Tsumeb Copper Festival.

“The Tsumeb Copper Festival, since its inception in 2003, has grown to become a premier marketing event on our social and economic calendar,” he said.

He added that it is a celebration of their vibrant community, a showcase of their entrepreneurial spirit, and a testament to the potential that lies within the local businesses and exhibitors.
