A seven-year-old girl was raped by an 18-year-old male cousin with whom she shared a bedroom.
According to Inspector Raimbert Muronga of the Namibian police, the incident took place on Thursday, 28 September 2023 at about 21:00.
It is reported that the seven-year-old Namibian female minor was raped at Oshetu no 3 at Vergenoeg location in Okahandja Otjozondjupa region.
It is alleged that the victim was asleep in the same room with the suspect when the incident took place without her consent.
The suspect an 18 years old Namibian male was arrested.
The victim and the suspects are cousins.
The victim was taken to the hospital and examined by the doctor.
The suspect is expected to appear in Okahandja magistrates court today 29 September.
In another case of rape, it is alleged that a 12-year-old girl was raped between August and September by a 19 years old Namibian male at Onguta village, Kunene region.
It is alleged that the suspect raped the minor victim on several occasions under coercive circumstances without her consent.
It is further alleged that the victim was threatened not to reveal anything regarding the rape.
On Tuesday, 26 September 2023, the victim was observed walking in a strange manner and her aunty decided to diagnose her and learned that the victim was sexually assaulted.
The suspect who lives or resides with the minor victim in the same homestead was arrested thereafter.
