Two records were broken at the the first Bank Windhoek Long Course gala of the season which took place at the Olympia Pool this weekend.
Roselinde Matyayi of Aqua Swimming and Fitness Club broke her own record in the 11-12-year-old girls 50m butterfly category with a new time of 29,89 seconds, while Dolphins Swimming Club club broke the mixed 10 and under 400m medley relay record with a time of 5 minutes 54,34 seconds.
Jessica Humphrey of Aqua produced the best performance of the meet, obtaining 670 Fina points for winning the girls 15-16 year old 50m backstroke in 30,83 seconds, while Oliver Durand of Dolphins got 611 Fina points for winning the boys 15-16 year old 100m freestyle in 55,27 seconds.
Robin Engelhard of Dolphins had the third best performance, obtaining 605 Fina points for winning the boys 15-16 year 50m freestyle in 24,72 seconds.
Durand had three performances in total that featured amongst the top ten performances terms of Fina points, while Engelhard and Marco Henning of Dolphins had two each, and Arkell Wellmann of Dolphins and Nico Esslinger of Dolphins one performance each amongst the top ten.
More than 130 swimmers from four clubs – Dolphins, Aqua, Marlins and Phoenix participated in the gala.
