THE United States (U.S.) Mission to the Republic of Namibia extends its condolences to the Namibian people and the family of the late Namibian President, Dr. Hage Geingob, who passed away on Sunday.
“The U.S. Mission to the Republic of Namibia was saddened to learn of the passing of His Excellency, President Hage Gottfried Geingob. President Geingob was a valued partner throughout his decades of public service,” the U.S Embassy to Namibia said.
The embassy added that it deeply appreciates and respects the U.S.’s decades-long relationship with President Geingob, which dates back to the early days of Namibia’s independence when the late president served as the country’s first Prime Minister.
“We salute his dedication to democratic values and commitment to building systems, processes, and institutions in service to the Namibian people. Today, we honour his memory and extend our deepest condolences to his family, the Namibian Government, and the people of the Land of the Brave,” expressed the U.S Embassy to Namibia.
