Popular Democratic Movement (PDM) president McHenry Venaani says the fight towards achieving the party’s ultimate goal of taking over the government lies in the unity of the PDM.
Vanaani said this on Friday at a PDM central committee (CC) meeting at Rundu.
The meeting was held to prepare the party for Namibia’s 2024 presidential and National Assembly elections.
Addressing members of the CC during the opening of the meeting, Venaani said taking over the government may be an onerous task, but the party can achieve its goal with unity of purpose and robust perseverance.
“We must remember that unity is not a mere sentiment. It has a functional relevance to our cause,” Venaani said.
He added: “Where there is unity, there is always victory.”
He said in unity lies the party’s power, strength to inspire, the courage to confront and the wisdom to steer its course towards its communal goal.
“Unity […] is an essential ingredient for progress, one that has propelled us to substantial gains over the recent years and one which underscores all our endeavours to secure the highest office of governance,” stressed Venaani.
He also said PDM members should apply their minds to passing policies that mirror progress and vision in their bid to secure the future of the PDM.
