Western Cape premier Alan Winde and MEC of Police Oversight and Community Safety Reagen Allen have expressed concern at the latest statistics from the Court Watching Brief Unit. The unit plays an oversight role and assists it in identifying inefficiencies in the judicial system. Eight courts were monitored by the unit from April to June this year, covering 21 police stations. Allen says the Kraaifontein police station had the highest number of cases struck from the roll at eight, and these included gender-based violence matters:
