Benita Windisch and Nathan Chase emerged as the overall winners of the Von Bach Arysteq Triathlon held on Sunday.
In the female category, Benita Windisch secured victory with an impressive time of one hour and 24 minutes, while Nathan Chase claimed the top spot in the male category, finishing the race in just one hour and 12 minutes.
This thrilling event attracted nearly a hundred triathletes who gathered at Von Bach Dam, located on the outskirts of Okahandja. Competitors of all ages and skill levels, ranging from young amateurs to seasoned professionals, participated in both the Sprint and Super Triathlon races.
Triathlon, a demanding multisport race that combines swimming, cycling, and running over varying distances, proved to be a true test of athleticism. Triathletes aimed to achieve the fastest overall completion time, seamlessly transitioning between each discipline.
The event drew a large crowd, consisting of supportive parents and fellow athletes. Spectators were treated to a remarkable display of athleticism as they witnessed the triathletes push themselves to the limits.
The race itself featured a challenging course, including a 700-meter swim, a 5km cycling segment, and a 2.5km run.
Wynand Dreyer, one of the organizers, expressed his delight at the impressive turnout for the event during an interview with NBC Sport. Dreyer also mentioned that the club has plans to host another exciting event in December, aiming to conclude the year in a stylish manner.
